A car with history
When starting a project, we usually find a suitable 964 donor car. Sometimes, clients
purchase one specifically for the project.
However, with the VS 012, the client fromWashington state wanted to use his parents’ 964. We were honored to transform a car with such sentimental value into a Von Schmidt.
It’s in the name…
When we asked the owner why he named the project ‘Thumper’, he explained: “When my father first bought the 964, the sound of the air-cooled flat-6 was so iconic to him and my mother that they joked it ‘thumped’. That memory stuck with me, so I wanted it to be part of the VS 012. That’s why I named it Thumper’.”
